Marion was tough in the single wing offense... yee of little knowledge

Abingdon was tough as well...yee of not knowing your surrounding teams outside of BSG.

VHS played a good game against TN High just could not put in it the endzone. Drove the ball up and down the field. I'll be the 1st to say VHS struggled at times to score when they had the opportunity.

JSB is getting better as a program... I never said they were a power house. Learn to read...or is that something you don't need in your world!?

I've forgotten more about FB than u'll ever know but that's for another thread. Don't tell me...show me. When the big powerhouse wins the CMD then and only then will i be convinced. Besides the cumberland or that grand ol highlands district last year I can't think of another they would have been capable of winning. And, no...sadly they won't win the CMD next year. Seriously, listen to yourself...you are talkin about marion like they are a powerhouse..lol...gimme a break. What's next...Abingdon and JSB are Juggernauts??...lol

Va. Highs biggest foe last year was themselves. Coach Smith is trying to teach the kids to be winners and to build a winning tradition. This does not happen overnight. They could move the ball up and down the field on anybody but not put it in the endzone because of critical mistakes at the wrong time. Those mistakes will be limited when you gain confidence and you expect to win as some schools in our area have i.e. Richlands- JI Burton-Gatecity-Powell valley-Rural retreat-Lebanon-and many more. What most of these schools have in common are great long time coaches that instill winning and make their teams expect it. That not only comes from the coaches but from the community. I wish in Bristol we could have that school spirit that alot of the smaller towns have. Enough talk about the past, look to the future

I never said VaHigh was no good...I hope their program does become strong. I just don't see it happening all in one whack next year.

Nobody said Va High was gonna win anything next year... The CMD will be a competitive district and Region D will be very competitive!

Just beacuse you don't like an opinion doesn't mean it's ruining the board. You were the one with the name calling etc...it doesn't matter to me who wins the CMD..lol..they're not gonna make it out of region D anyways...But if ya want to cry like a lil baby go right ahead. Replying to last post, not to an individual

Guys, good debate going. Nothing wrong with difference of opinions, and a bit of give/take.

What ruins the board is people taking difference of opinions personal.

Very little of what any of us say is facts. Even games that are played, 2 people, 2 different places see things totally different. A player scoring 3 touchdowns is a fact (well generally, even if he doesn't get in one of them and the ref gives it to him, he got the third touchdown...but anyhow), a player having a great game, or a team playing down or a weak opponent or whatever is entirely subjective. Just because a team is considered a lightweight, doesn't mean they are a weak opponent (sometimes those teams are the hardest ones to prepare for), and just because a team is the greatest thing since sliced cheese doesn't mean they were a killer opponent either.

We all have our respective biases, likes/dislikes, etc. Agree to disagree, then kind of do what the jib person did last night and gloat when you're right....just don't disappear when you're wrong [img]/LDPforum/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif[/img]
